(1929-2015) She was an international authority and activist for women's rights and sexual freedom, as well as for women's empowerment in childbearing and parenting. Author of numerous books, she trained thousands and thousands of health professionals in various countries on the anthropology of childbirth, breastfeeding and women's rights. Among other awards, she was Honorary Professor at Thames Valley University.
